Chesterfield Church Accused Of Violating Gathering Order

Chesterfield, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) --  Chesterfield Police Chief Jeffrey Katz has sent a letter to Mt. Gilead Full Gospel International Ministries, asking them to stop allegedly violating the current ban on large gatherings.  Katz says no summons is being issued because of the role the church plays in the community, but further violations will be enforced.

Katz says there was enough to actually issue a citation.  Katz says his officers were denied access to the church (near Hicks and Hull Street Roads), and while they had signs saying services were cancelled, the church was allegedly running off-site shuttles.

Katz says he is disappointed.  The ban is in place to try and reduce the spread of coronavirus.
