Henrico Health District Hold State's First Walk-Up Testing

Glen Allen, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - The Henrico Health District held Virginia's first walk-up coronavirus testing clinic today at the Woodman West Apartments in Glen Allen.  The district says 22 people were tested.  The goal was to increase access to tests in underserved communities where people may not have insurance, or the ability to drive to other testing sites.

The district's Amy Popovich says they did learn some lessons from the experience, such as trying to get as many people as possible to pre-register, so that delays are minimal.  Testing is still limited to people showing symptoms.

Additional sites will hold testing clinics in the coming days.
